Scouting Report
(Preseason All-State (Feb 2015) Carroll stands 5-foot-9, 175-pounds with good size behind the dish. At the plate he shows a relaxed, comfortable approach, even stance. Hands moving before load, strides to slightly open, path is short, barrel is mostly level through the ball. Back side pushes through well, finish is shoulder level, 78 mph bat speed. From behind the plate he receives slightly open, smooth exchange, quick hands. Pop times at 2.0 to second, fast release from an over-the-top slot.

Our Take
Junior college is a fine fit for the greater Rochester area catcher. Prototypical size with a thick lower half that moves well behind the plate - receives with a soft feel. Development with the bat is key for Carroll who shows a compact swing but needs more aggressive bat-speed. Looking forward to following him this HS-season.
