Scouting Report
Border Battle (October 18, 2015) We've seen Brandon in game action during our scouting of the PSAL season in NYC but this was our first enhanced look at the 6-foot-3, 180 pound outfielder. Offensively- Brandon hits from a spread stance with quite timing mechanisms. Has a small hitch in hands before committing but stays short to the ball. Patient approach with above average strike zone awareness. Had two well struck balls put in play, a single to LF and a line out to 2B. Defensively- Ranges well and showed off an accurate and strong arm (84 mph). Prototypical next level RF build and the tools to go with it. Committed to Farleigh Dickinson not long after event.
Quick Hit
Seltzer, at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds definitely looks the part but also combines some unique skill-sets. At the plate he combines above-average bat-speed (91) with bat-strength. While defensively, he shows enough arm-strength and carry for the position (OF), with long, easy gliding strides - makes a sub-7 60-time look effortless.
