New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for Connecticut - #3 Michael Burrows
#3 Michael Burrows, RHP/SS, Waterford, 2018 (UConn commit)
Scouting Report from Future Games: On the mound, showed a fast and quick twitch delivery. Pitched with ease at 80-83 mph and spun a mid-60s breaking ball. The breaking pitch had the right shape and tilt to it. The changeup is still a work in progress but he threw it 72-73 mph. He is athletic and he repeats his delivery. As a positional player, he played the outfield and shortstop, plenty athletic to do both. Ran a 7.5 60-yard dash. Threw 80 mph from his position, with carry and accuracy. The bat works and has life to it. The path needs to be flattened a bit but he is athletic and loose. The tee exit velocity was 87 mph. Big time prospect in my eyes. I like him more on the mound, but who knows with 3 years to go.
Ranking: Burrows is ranked 8th in New England's 2018 class and 148th overall.
