Unsigned Senior Spotlight: LHP/OF Jake Lalumondier (Lee's Summit West)

Jake Lalumondier (Lee's Summit West) is a 6-foot 185-pound LHP/OF.  Lalumondier played a key role on a loaded Lee's Summit West team in 2013.  He helped lead the Titans to an 18-8 record and an appearance in the district championship.  Lalumondier and his teammates are ready to take the next step and compete for the State Championship in 2014.  With his fastball in the low 80's, Lalumondier looks to become a starter for the Titans as a senior.  We had a chance to discuss the 2014 season with Lalumondier. 

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Lalumondier: The only schools as of now expressing interest are Westminster, Hannibal-Legrange and Avila.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Lalumondier: I visited Westminster over the summer and plan to make visits to Hannibal and Avila soon

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Lalumondier: I'm really only looking for in a school if they have a criminal justice major and somewhere close to home

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Lalumondier: I feel I did really well my junior year. I was 4-1 with a 1.20 era.  Our team had a solid regular season but lost in the district championship. I was a KC Suburban Middle Six Honorable Mention All Conference selection my junior year as a LHP reliever. I hit .351 with a .405 slugging percentage at the plate for my summer team, the Lakers.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Lalumondier: Win state!

PBR:What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Lalumondier: I'm looking for a travel team. I used to play on the Lakers but that team has folded. 

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Lalumondier: I don't play any other sports

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Lalumondier: My act was a 22 and my GPA is a 2.98
