Unsigned Senior Spotligh: Cameron Dean (Grandview, 2014)
November 6, 2013
Last season, Cameron Dean (Grandview, 2014, 6-foot-1, 170-pounds) batted .444 with 13 RBI, six double, one triple and one home run for the Grandview Bulldogs. The outfielder has some impressive bat speed, and ran a 4.28 home to first. He has long, smooth stride while running. He has a projectable frame and athletic ability and looks to become for a threat on the bases in 2014.
Currently, Dean is receiving most interest from junior colleges, as he plans on visiting Jefferson College soon. Along with Missouri Western, the Seattle Mariners have also contacted Dean. Dean is a picky on where he wants to attend school.
"The location of the school isn’t a big concern for me. I’d like to go to a school that can offer strong academics along with a good baseball program. But mainly somewhere with a good coaching staff that can help me get better," Dean mentioned.
During the summer, Dean plays for the Diamond Masterz in Kansas City and played for the Kansas City Royals Scout team in the fall. He has a 3.1 GPA and looks to improve on his 18 ACT this school year.
