USA Baseball Trims 18U Roster To 28

The first phase of USA Baseball’s 18U National Team Trials concluded Saturday and the roster was trimmed to 28. Players flew home Sunday and will reconvene at Cal State Fullerton in mid-August where a second phase of trials will take place. The roster will then be trimmed to 20. The team will train for a few more days in Fullerton before heading to Taiwan for exhibition games. On August 28, they will travel to Osaka, Japan, for the WBSC 18U World Cup.
Below are the players that have made it to the next phase of trials.
Jacob Amaya, IF, South Hills HS, CA (Cal State Fullerton)
Quick bat, squared several balls up. Good actions and arm strength
Michael Amditis, C, Boca Raton HS, FL (Miami)
Simple, direct swing at the plate with strong arm behind it
