PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Welsh: Jefferson College, Johnson County Community College, Crowder, Drury, Central Missouri, Rockhurst, Eastern Illinois, Hutchinson Community College and University of Oklahoma

PBR:  Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Welsh: I recently visited Johnson County and Jefferson College. A few other coaches have contacted me about making some visits to their schools as well.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Welsh: I would like the school to have a strong baseball program and high academic expectations of their players.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Welsh: My junior year started off great for me and my team. We finished the season with a winning record and second in our conference. For me personally, I was hitting and playing well until I ended up missing a few games because of a minor knee injury. This kept me from finishing as well as I would have liked.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Welsh: My goals are to improve on all my stats, especially my pitching velocity and ERA. I would also like to hit with more power and increase my batting average. Another goal for me is to be a leader for my teammates on and off the field.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Welsh: I played for the Midwest Warducks this summer.  This Fall I’m playing on the Royals Elite team and the SABA Senior Elite team.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Welsh: I play on my high school basketball team.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Welsh: I scored a 19 on my ACT and have a 3.3 GPA. I will be taking the ACT a couple more times to hopefully improve my score.
