OF Darrian Aldridge (Grandview, 2015) posted a home-to-first time of 4.32 at the Class of 2015 Prospect Games in Warrensburg on August 17. The athletic 6-foot-2, 165-pound left-hand hitting outfielder, has an open setup with a smooth load. He has a level bat path and gets good extension on his swing with a gap-to-gap approach. He had an exit velo of 81 MPH. Aldridge throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and made very accurate throws with a position velo at 82 MPH. Aldridge has very good actions and displayed a quick clean exchange.
Aldridge is currently playing quarterback at Grandview this fall. Last spring, he hit .352 with 14 stolen bases, and led Grandview to an appearance in the district Championship. As of now, Aldridge is still looking for a college to attend. Below is a glimpse of what is going on for Aldridge.
PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
Aldridge: I haven't personally received any interest. I have only played a few showcases. Several schools have expressed interest to my Coach Rod Meyer.
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?
Aldridge:I haven't taken any visits.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Aldridge: I am leaning towards physical therapy but still undecided.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Aldridge:I had an okay year. I hit .352 with 6 doubles, 5 triples, 31 runs, .436 on base, .534 slug and 14 stolen bases. Our team only won 8 games and lost to Pembroke Hill in the District Championship.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season at Grandview? Name some players that will play a key role for Grandview next spring.
Aldridge: My goals are to help lead our team to a winning record and set the school records for career runs scored, Triples, and stolen bases.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Aldridge: I just started playing college showcase ball this past summer with the KC Elite. I currently am not playing fall ball due to a broken collarbone that happened in my first football game of the season. I will be cleared to play in 1 week and hope to get a few tournaments before the hard working winter
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Aldridge: I play quarterback on the football team.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Aldridge: ACT 17 GPA 2.7. I am currently preparing to retake the ACT.
