Player Spotlight: OF Andrew Jones (Parkway North, 2017)

Andrew Jones (Parkway North, 2017) is an athletic 6-foot-1 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder from the St. Louis area. He recently attended the Class of 2017 Games on June 7 at Saint Louis University.

Jones ran an event best 6.56 60 and got down the line in 4.20 from the left side. He has athletic movements to the ball in the outfield with a clean exchange and momentum through the catch.  He posted a 74 mph positional velo and had an 83 mph exit velo. 

This spring, Jones batted .333 with 22 stolen bases and is currently playing for Team Missouri this summer. 

Here is a look inside the recruitment of Andrew Jones.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Jones:  I have not taken any visits to any schools and I do not have any scheduled for the future.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Jones: I’m looking for a school with a good business program and also something that is not more than 10 or more hours away.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Jones: I did well this past high school season; I batted .333, also with 22 stolen bases and had a 100% stolen base percentage.  My on base percentage was .457, slugging percentage was .400, and had 13 walks.  My team (Parkway North) went 12-15; we lost to DeSmet High School in the first round.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Jones: My goals for my senior season is to help my team go deeper into the playoffs, make 1st team all-conference and conference player of the year award, and also be committed to a college.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Jones: I play for Team Missouri Retro Baseball Club and no I do not play fall ball with a team.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Jones:  I also play football.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Jones: My ACT score is a 21 and my GPA is 3.35.
