OUTLOOK
If you are a college coach and you want to see a game this spring, make sure you put Staley down as a must see. They are as talented as any team in the state in every class. The Falcons will be an experienced team that returns four everyday starters and seven players with starting experience. Team speed and defense will be a strength; along with many arms that should transition to the varsity level. Contributing to the team speed will be senior, Conrad McMahon, a 5-foot-9 175-pound OF with a 6.56 60 time. Senior Levi McLaughlin is a 6-foot-1 175-pound 2B with a lefty bat that will return in the top of the Staley order, while Jordan Robben, a highly athletic 3B/RHP, will add power to the line-up and velo on the mound. Robben was 86 mph with his fastball last fall and has a 90 mph exit velo. Staley will feature two physical athletes in the outfield in seniors Parker Mertz and Jacob Pfender. Senior Jacob Miller, a 6-foot 165-pound RHP, will be called on to throw meaningful innings on the mound. The Falcons also sent four juniors to PBR's Future Games last summer; SS/RHP Ross Messina, LHP/1B/OF Hunter Swift, C Sean Cooley and OF Jack Duffy. Junior OF Mitchel McCallister is among one of the states highest risers in recent rankings, with a 6.8 60 time and an 88 mph arm from the outfield. Staley has more depth in it's underclassmen as well, and should be a strong program for the next several years. In 2015, the Falcons will be fast, athletic, loaded with lefty bats and productive arms on the mound. They will have the ability to match-up well with any team in the state and make a run at the state championship. Coach Wilson should be very excited for the upcoming season.
