OUTLOOK
Christian Brothers College could arguably be the best collection of talent on one high school team in the state. The Cadets have the #1 ranked player in the 2015 class, Matt Vierling and the #1 ranked player in the 2017 class, Jacob Hausmann. Vierling just wrapped up on the best performances at the Super 60 in Chicago, with a 93 mph fastball and 94 mph velo from the outfield. The Notre Dame recruit is drawing a lot of attention from professional scouts and looks healthy after his injury last summer. Hausmann was impressive at the PBR Underclass Games last fall, toughing 89 mph off the mound. He is a 6-foot-5 190-pound athlete that has room for a natural velocity increase. Mizzou commit, Blake Charlton will be another flame thrower for the Cadets. Charlton has been right at the 90 mph mark off the mound and will bring a power bat to the line-up as well. Senior Cole Miller will be another nice arm for the Cadets. Miller is a 6-foot-4 200-pound righty with a quick arm and movement on his pitches. CBC will have plus-athletes all over the field as well, Mike Million, who played a big role on the state championship football team, will see time in the outfield and behind the plate. Million hit .318 with two home runs and 29 RBI last season. Seniors Stephen Haring and Shane Melbrod have committed to Xavier. Haring gives a left-handed bat in the middle of the line-up, last season hitting at a .457 clip with 35 RBI. Senior Marcos Martinez and Junior Dan Ampleman are speedy MIF that can create havoc on the bases. The Cadets can match up well with anybody in the state. Besides being able to defend, CBC has power arms, power bats and speed on the bases. A recipe that could lead to good things for the Cadets come June. They compete in a tough conference, the Metro Catholic league and are ranked #3 in the Missouri Class 5 preseason rankings.
