Class 5

#9 Marquette 2, Lafayette 1
Daniel Covert's home run gave Marquette a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Lafayette got the game tied in the top of the seventh, but Johnson led off the the bottom of the seventh with a double for Marquette, and later scored the game winner on a Covert sacrifice fly to win in  a walk off.  MItch Carr worked 5.1 innings allowing no earned runs with a strikeout and a walk. Sean McCracken got the win for Marquette in 0.2 innings of work. 

Parkway Central 5, DeSmet 3
Trailing 3-1 after three innings, Parkway Central added a run in the fourth and rallied for three in the fifth to earn the win and district championship. Josh Konecek went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs, while Brantley Lohkamp and Brady Feigl each hit doubles for Parkway Central.  Matthew Bernstein threw a complete game allowing two earned runs on ten hits with three strikes to earn the win. 

Fort Zumwalt South 3, Fort Zumwalt North 2
Hayden Vaughn struck out six and allowed two runs on six hit in seven innings.  Anthony Passante and Ryan Sosnowski collected two hits apiece for Fort Zumwalt South and Cole Layton added a 1-for-2 day wit an RBI.  Aaron Schwerdt went 3-for-3 to lead Fort Zumwalt North.  

#5 Vianney 6, Oakville 1
Staley 6, Park Hill South 4

Class 4

Clayton 3, John Burroughs 1
Scoreless until the ninth inning, Clayton rallied for three runs in the top half of the inning.  John Burroughs tired to make a come back in the bottom half, but fell short as Clayton won 3-1.  John Howard earned the win working 5.1 innigns allowing one earned run on five hits with seven strikeouts.  Max Hunter and Nate Gatter each had two hits for Clayton.  Alex Jasiek went eight innings on the mound for Burroughs, scattering five hits and striking out 11.
