On Tuesday, June 24 at Atkins Baseball Complex in Columbia, Missouri, Prep Baseball Report held the Mid-Missouri Prospect ID. We have broken down the pitchers, outfielders and infielders, today we break down the catchers. Although, may players did another position besides catcher, this is just a look at catching performances.

Top Prospect
Seth Gerardy (Battle, C, 2015)
Gerardy is a solid, athletic 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-hand hitting catcher. He ran a 60 at 7.50 and home-to-first 4.63. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has short arm action. Seth’s throws were mostly accurate and had great carry. He has a clean exchange and quick fluid feet. Seth had a POP range of 2.10-2.24. His position velo was 71 MPH. At the plate, Gerardy has an athletic setup and a smooth load with a long stride. He gets good extension with fast bat speed. Seth’s swing produces line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 86 MPH (2nd at the event).

Jackson Caley (Pleasant Hill, C, 2018)
Caley is an athletic 5-foot-8, 135-pound right-hand hitting catcher/middle infielder. He ran a 60 at 7.56 and home-to-first 4.84. Jackson posted a POP time of 2.06-2.22. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot. His throws were accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 69 MPH at catcher and 75 MPH from the outfield. Caley has good feet with a good exchange. At the plate, Caley has an athletic setup with good balance through his swing. He has fast bat speed with a level bat path. Jackson produces gap-to-gap line drives. He had an exit velo of 77 MPH.
Nick Hagedorn (Smith Cotton, C, 2017)
Hadedorn is a strong, athletic 5-foot-7, 165-pound left-hand hitting catcher. He ran a 60 at 7.06 and home-to-first 4.41. Nick posted a POP time of 2.09-2.19. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot. His throws were fairly accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 68 MPH. At the plate, Hagedorn has an open setup with a short stride. He has fast bat speed with a strong lower half. Nick has good balance and produces line drives. Hagedorn had an exit velo of 84 MPH.
Jordan Hennon (Lee's Summit West, C, 2016)
Hennon is a strong, athletic 6-foot-0, 185-pound left-hand hitting catcher. He ran a 60 at 7.75 and a home-to-first time of 4.94. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Jordan’s throws were very accurate and had great carry. He has quick fluid feet and a clean exchange. His position velo was 71 MPH. He posted a POP range of 2.06-2.16. At the plate, Hennon has an athletic setup and a smooth load with a short stride. He gets good extension through the ball and has an advanced approach. Jordan’s swing produces line drives and has good power. He had an exit velo of 78 MPH.
Tyler Murphy (Fort Osage, C, 2015)
Murphy is a strong 6-foot-0, 185-pound left-hand hitting catcher. He ran a 60 at 7.53 and home-to-first time at 4.62. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Tyler’s throws were very accurate and had great carry. He has quick fluid feet and a clean exchange. His position velo was 75 MPH. He posted a POP range of 1.98-2.10. At the plate, Murphy has an athletic setup and a smooth load with a short stride. He explodes with his lower half and has fast bat speed. Tyler’s level swing produces line drives and has good power to all fields. He had an exit velo of 78 MPH.
