OUTLOOK
The Helias Crusaders will compete in Missouri Class 4 this spring, after appearing Missouri Class 5 for past several years.  The Crusaders pushed Class 5 state champion to the limit last season, with an 11-12 loss in the district championship.  In 2014, the Crusaders are the preseason #4 ranked team in the Class 4, returning six position players and three pitchers.  Among the top returners is junior Alex Faddoul, an Honorable Mention All-State Utility/DH last year.  Faddoul batted .460 with four home runs and six doubles as a sophomore. Left-handed hitting catcher Alex Barton is another senior looking to lead the Crusaders into the state playoffs. He is a Second-Team All State selection from a year ago, and posted a .435 batting average with two homers, nine doubles and 24 RBI.  On the mound, junior Clayton Winter looks to be the ace, after a sophomore season with 34-plus innings pitched and a 2.42 ERA.  He fanned 44 batters and finished the season at 6-0.  The Crusaders will make some noise in the spring and will contend for the state championship.
