PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
Hedman: I’ve had conversations with schools in the Big 10, Big 12, and Missouri Valley Conference, as well as some smaller schools.
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?
Hedman: I visited K-State and Iowa last Fall. I would like to get to Bradley and a couple other Missouri Valley Conference schools in the near future.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Hedman: I’d like to stay in the mid-west and attend a school with good academics as well as a tradition of winning.
PBR: How did you do your sophomore year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Hedman: My sophomore season I started at 2nd base for varsity at Eureka High School. Unfortunately, it was cut short when I broke my thumb. Our team went on to win the District Championship.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Hedman: I play for Coaches Matt Whiteside and Scott Cooper on the St. Louis Gamers 17U Blue team. We had a successful summer and fall, winning the Hagen Memorial in Memphis, the Perfect Game Kernals Foundation Championship in Iowa, and making it to the final 8 out of 200 teams at the Perfect Game World Underclass Championship in Fort Myers. We ended up with an overall record of 48-10-2 but finished 25 – 1 in the Fall season.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Hedman: I played football my freshman and sophomore years as a safety and punt returner but took my junior year off to focus on baseball.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Hedman; 3.43 GPA and a 23 on the ACT.
