Minnesota State Director
Jackson Buelow, SS/OF, Highland Park, Class of 2015
PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
BUELOW: There are several schools that have expressed interest in me on different levels. UW- Stout, UW- Concordia, Augsburg, Hamline, Saint Mary’s, Upper Iowa University. Luther College, Century College and Rochester Technical College. I have not made any commitments at this time.
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
BUELOW: I have visited 9 schools so far and I am looking forward to seeing a few more in the next month.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
BUELOW: Location of the school does not matter. I am looking at business management at this point so I feel like I can fit almost anywhere. As far as baseball, I'm not focused in on a big school or small school in particular. I am looking for the school which will allow me to make the most significant and quickest contributions to their team.
PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
BUELOW: I'm becoming a more skilled and mature player each year. In my junior year I was fortunate to play baseball all year round for the first time. It was such a great opportunity to get on the field from November through March. By time my high school season started, I was inserted into the starting line-up and played almost full-time despite the high number of seniors on the team. I batted third in the line-up all summer for my legion team and delivered at the plate on a regular basis.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
BUELOW: I will once again play during the winter this year which will allow me to further develop as a player and jump right into the high school baseball season ready to go next spring. I have been named as one of the captains which is a great honor. I will be a leader on and off the field and hope to help my team make a deep run in the playoffs.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
BUELOW: Yes. I also play high school hockey and am the captain of the team this year. We lost 8 seniors last year and have 11 new players joining the team this year. It should be very exciting to see what we can do.
PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
BUELOW: My ACT is 22 and my weighted GPA is 3.0.
