PBR: Why did you choose the University of Minnesota?
BRIDGES: The U has a great coaching staff, nice facilities, and I can get a great education there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
BRIDGES: I really hadn’t considered any other schools other than the U at the time.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
BRIDGES: They saw me pitch at some showcases last winter and at some games last spring. Later in August I was at their prospect camp and that’s when I met all the coaches. I then got a home visit from Coach Oakes and went on an official visit. I then committed at the end of the visit.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
BRIDGES: Yes it’s a weight off my shoulders. I’m lucky to not have to worry about where I play next year.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
BRIDGES: I really respect the way Todd Oakes coaches and I know I’m in great hands with the whole coaching staff.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
BRIDGES: My pitching Coach Larry George has helped my pitching the most. John Gaub has also been a great pitching coach. But most importantly I wouldn't be where I am today without my parents supporting me throughout my whole baseball career.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
BRIDGES: I really didn’t know what to expect about the recruiting process. But with the U, it was a longer process but was pretty easy. They were very clear and honest with me and I respect that.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
BRIDGES: I haven’t talked about that with them yet. But whatever it is I will just work my tail off in practice and try to earn playing time.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
BRIDGES: My most memorable moment was losing to Roseville last year in sections. In the last inning I overthrew the first basemen and they scored the game winning run. It was my fault and it’s not a happy memory but I like to use it as motivation to be better and not let my team down like that ever again.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
BRIDGES: I get to play against Michael Busch quite often. He’s a great hitter and he’s fun to pitch against.
