Jake Irvin, RHP, Bloomington Jefferson, 2015
Notes-The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Oklahoma recruit was one of the event’s biggest sleepers, in my opinion. Long limbs, young in the face, 3/4 arm slot, three pitches for strikes, everything with run and sink. Irvin’s fastball sat 89-90, and he commanded it at the knees and below, to both sides of the plate, with late arm-side run. Irvin clearly knows how to manipulate the baseball, as his curveball and changeup both had sharp late action as well. In terms of having an uncomfortable at-bat from a hitter’s perspective, Irvin would be near the top of the list.
