Marcus Bouley

Height/Weight: 6-foot, 165-pounds
High School: Anoka
PBR Rank: #91 in MN 2017 Class

Evaluation: 3/20/16- 6-foot, 165-pound right-handed pitcher. #45 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Thin frame with loose body. Has cleaned up direction to plate, long draw on back-side, has to work to get up and over front shoulder tilt, elevated pitches occasionally, clean arm action. Fastball was 83-85 mph with solid life in zone. Sweeping action on breaking ball with late break and good arm speed at 74-75 mph. Developing feel for changeup at 70-74 mph.

PBR: Why did you choose St. Scholastica? 
BOULEY: St. Scholastica felt like home. From the coaches, to the atmosphere of the school, and everything as a whole.

PBR: What other schools were you considering? 
BOULEY: Creighton, Wisconsin-Lacrosse, North Dakota State, and a couple others.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them? 
BOULEY: I honestly don't know. One day I got a text from Coach Swartz saying he loved the way I pitched and my love for the game. Talking over the phone really helped. Also the visits to the college.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school? 
BOULEY: Yes. St. Scholastica was where I wanted to be. No question whatsoever. I knew I belonged there.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top? 
BOULEY: The whole concept of Scholastica feeling like home. Also it being a small college, means I'm closer to my professors; which was important to me.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today? 
BOULEY: My Blizzard Coach Adam Barta, high school coach Shannon Blansette, and my father Dustin Bouley.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult? 
BOULEY: I knew it was going to be a long and difficult process. But as soon as Coach Kemp and Coach Swartz started talking to me, I was finally relieved.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season? 
BOULEY: Coach Kemp and Coach Swartz want me to come in as a potential starter as a freshman pitcher. They believe I'll make a big impact to their pitching staff.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date? 
BOULEY: When my Blizzard team placed 3rd in a Las Vegas tournament. Those were probably the most thrilling and most memorable games to date.

PBR: Who is the best player you have competed against?
BOULEY: Probably Matt Wallner. He had hit a couple of my pitches pretty hard into the gap. I've struck him out once. That’s all I've got on him. As a pitcher, he's unbelievably talented.
