Team Michigan Future Games Spotlight: Shane Easter, OF/SS

On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Michigan will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Michigan at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.

Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Past Showcase/In-Game Performances: 
Date: 6/23/15
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect. Athletic actions in the outfield. Gets behind the ball well and aggressive on all throws. Good transfers helped record an 84 mph arm velocity from the outfield. On the infield, quick lateral movements help create funnel through the baseball. Strong 80 mph arm velocity across the diamond and quick transfer on throws. Slight toe tap to long stride. Level to slightly upward swing plane. Line drive approach as barrel stays in zone for a long time. Strong hands, compact swing, 91 mph exit velocity.

Shane EasterDate: 6/17/14
Scouting Report: Big, strong young prospect. Strong athletic arm falls hard to first base side. Fastball has good arm-side run at 83-84 mph. Curveball was best offspeed pitch at 69-71 mph and changeup was 74 mph. Long and lanky build creates good range in the infield. Quick hands and good footwork with his approach on the infield. Ran a 4.62 home to 1st. Gets off his backside well at the plate and creates pop in his bat. Has good plate coverage with ability to hit to all fields. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Awards or academic accolades you have received: 2 year All-conference Shortstop, 2 year All-Conference Wide Receiver, 1 year All-conference in basketball.
