Team Michigan Future Games Spotlight: Jarrod Melle, RHP/1B
July 27, 2015
By Aaron Wilson
PBR Michigan Assistant Scouting Director
On July 30th through August 1st, PBR Michigan will take a select team of players in the Classes of 2017 and 2018 to represent Michigan at the PBR Future Games in Indianapolis at Grand Park.
Players receive exposure unlike any other event for underclassmen. Last year, 100+ colleges from all over the country were in attendance, including coaches from every Division I power conference in the country. Only players who have a legitimate shot at being a Division I recruit and who have an interest in the possibility of making a verbal commitment during their sophomore or junior seasons have been considered.

Thoughts on being selected to play at the Future Games and represent the state of Michigan: "I think it is a real honor and am excited to represent Michigan. In 2012, I was chosen to represent USSSA baseball team Michigan and we won the tournament. I am excited about helping our team compete and to show the high level of baseball talent Michigan has to offer. "
How has PBR helped as far as recruiting and exposure: "Participating in the PBR showcases has helped me get used to having college coaches and scouts watch me perform. The first couple of times were intimidating, but performing in front of them has gotten easier now that I know what to expect. The showcases and PBR reports are also helpful with getting exposure to college coaches and scouts that I might not otherwise have. I am hoping that this exposure will carry over to the recruitment process in order to allow coaches and scouts the ability to see and read about my skills."
Awards or academic accolades you have received: "As a starting pitcher my freshman year, I helped my high school varsity team capture the OK white conference title. As a freshman, I earned 1st team All conference and All district teams. We were repeat OK White Conference champs again in my sophomore year and I was again named to 1st team All Conference an All district teams."
GPA: 3.68 GPA
Fun Fact (Anything unique about yourself): "During my off-time, I love being outdoors fishing, deer hunting and rabbit hunting."
