No. 6 Ranked Player in the State: Jack Weisenburger
Name: Jack Weisenburger
School: Rockford
Summer Team: Midwest A's
Position: RHP/OF
College Commitment: University of Michigan
2016 Rank: 6th in the 2016 class and 200th overall
PBR: How was your summer?
Weisenburger: My summer was good. I played with a great group of guys and we did pretty well together. I had success on the mound and at the plate.
PBR: Your summer team is made up of several division 1 commits, how does a team like that prepare you for when you head to Ann Arbor to wear the Maize and Blue?
Weisenburger: Being on a team like that, has me feel more prepared than I ever have been before. Being able to use Elite's facility all year, along with the coaches that are there has really benefited me and my development.
PBR: You were selected to both the area code games and east coast pro please tell us about the selection process and experience at both.
Weisenburger: Playing in ECP and Area Codes was by far the highlight of my summer. Playing in front of hundreds of scouts for almost two weeks total is hard to come by. I went to a tryout for both of the events earlier in the summer and ended up being fortunate enough to be selected. The friends and relationships you make at both of these events is really unique because you're all going through the same process together and it's fun to compete that way. I was able to learn a lot more about the game from the coaches we had and it was a lot of fun as well. Anybody who ever has a chance to go to something like this should take advantage.
PBR: What are you expectations entering your senior year?
Weisenburger: My expectations for senior year include hopefully making a run at a state championship with a core group of guys that I've been playing with at Rockford for the past few years now. Individually I want to be as prepared as possible when springtime rolls around both on the mound and in the outfield.
