We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Michigan’s Preseason Underclass Showcase West. This was a great opportunity for 2016, '17 and '18 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories. 

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Top Pitcher: Logan Lee, RHP/1B, Rockford, 2018

Top Position Player: Tommy Blitchok, C, Grandville, 2018

AJ Clarey, 2B, Caledonia, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-8, 145-pound prospect. Smooth actions in the infield with footwork and glove, fields the ball deep. Short arm action throwing 74 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.00 60-yard dash. Good plate with excellent separation in a oppo/middle approach at the plate.  Bat speed registered at 77 mph.

Alex Borowski, RHP/1B, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect. Quick, ¾ arm action with long levers. Fastball was 75-78 mph. Curveball with gradual break at 67 mph. Cuts off changeup at 70-71 mph. Soft hands with good footwork around first base. Threw 74 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. High leg kick with no load in a pull approach at the plate. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Gray Christensen, C, Spring Lake, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 145-pound prospect. Good stance with mobility in his receiving ability. Blocks the ball well. Pop time of 2.39-2.51. Ran a 8.26 60-yard dash. Short stride with a good bat path in a middle of the field approach. Bat speed registered at 71 mph.

Ian Leatherman, RHP, Jenison, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-6, 135-pounds. ¾ arm action with clean mechanics and the ability to command all pitches for strikes. Fastball was 75-78 mph. Slider was his best off speed pitch with late sweeping break at 60-62 mph. Changeup has arm-side sink at 64-65 mph.

Jake Kissane, C/OF, Lake Michigan Catholic, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Good setup with strong blocking skills, soft receiving ability. Pop time of 2.31-2.48. Ran a 7.94 60-yard dash. Quick hands in a inside/outside swing. Bat speed registered at 74 mph.

James(Ethan) Bird, SS/RHP, Rockford, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 125-pound prospect. 3/4 arm slot with good command of three pitches. Fastball was 70-74 mph. Curveball showed gradual break at 63-64 mph. Changeup with some sink at 64 mph. Soft hands with good footwork at shortstop. Threw 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. Balance setup at the plate with a compact swing to the middle to pull side. Bat speed registered at 68 mph.

Logan Lee, RHP/1B, Rockford, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot-4, 190-pounds. High-¾ arm action with long levers. Fastball has some sink at 81-82 mph. Slider with a sweeping action at 70-71 mph. Changeup with arm-side sink at 68-71 mph. Soft hands with good footwork at first base. Threw 78 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.99 60-yard dash. Closed off toe tap stride, strength in his bat in a slight uphill swing. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Tommy Blitchok, C, Grandville, 2018
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 185-pounds. Strong bodied catcher who sticks pitches well, blocking is good and will become great with increased flexibility. Pop time of 2.13-2.27. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Toe tap stride, creates some power in bat in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Ty Schmitt, RHP/ OF, Greenville, 2018
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 145-pounds. High-¾ arm action in a max effort delivery. Fastball has some arm-side run at 77-81 mph. 11/5 curveball with some tilt action at 64-65 mph. Changeup showed good sink at 67-72 mph. Good action with glove and footwork in the outfield. Threw 82 mph from the outfield. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Good weight transfer back to front in a pull approach at the plate. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.
