Michigan Insider: Week 5 Player of the Week - John Baker, RHP/1B
Name: John Baker
School: Hartland
Position: RHP/1B
Class: 2016
Week in Review:
John Baker took Hartland High School on a fairy-tale ride to the state championship game last year. His 10 inning victory in that game will go down in history for the ages. Baker is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound RHP that has committed to Ball State University and is ranked 9th in the 2016 class. Against his conference rival Baker threw 10 innings in relief racking up 15 strikeouts, while allowing no runs.
In the bottom of the 18th inning with Baker leading off there was another story book ending created as he smashed the 2nd pitch of the at bat over the leftfield fence ending the game in walk off fashion.
