We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Michigan’s Lansing Winter Open ID Showcase. This was a great opportunity for unsigned senior prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.
In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Lansing Winter Open ID: 2015 Player Evaluations
Top Position Player: Christian Jaworski, OF, Bloomfield Hills, 2015 & Grant Steinborn, 1B, New Lothrop, 2015
Top Pitcher: Adam Tobias, RHP, Novi, 2015 & Zach Gilbert, RHP, Walled Lake Northern, 2015
6-foot, 205-pound prospect. ¾ quick arm slot from the right side of the mound, gets directional down the slope well. Has increased his fastball since the Top Prospects games, fastball sat 81-84 mph. Curveball had good depth at 60-61 mph. Changeup was thrown with sink at 70-72 mph. One of the top unsigned 2015 players in Michigan.
Alex Archambeault, RHP, Waverly, 2015
5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect. Long, ¾ arm action getting directional down the slope of mound well. Commanded fastball well at 76-82 mph. Showed one secondary pitch a 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 65-69 mph.
6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect. Long, lanky levers with a high over the top arm action creating good leverage on the hitter. Fastball has some arm side run at 79-84 mph. 12/6 curveball with gradual break at 63-67 mph. Changeup has good arm-side sink at 67-70 mph.
Brandon Hass, LHP, Grandville, 2015
6-foot-3, 180-pound prospect. Long levers on the mound from the left side. Quick, high-¾ arm action with quick tempo. Show good command of all three pitches. Fastball had good arm-side run at 76-80 mph. Showed consistent break in curveball at 60-62 mph. Changeup had good movement at 67-69 mph.
Chase Baker, C, Mona Shores, 2015
5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect. Great flexibility getting low creating a low target for the pitcher to throw to. Good blocking and receiving catcher. Pop times of 2.16-2.22. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Open-to-closed stance with an aggressive swing in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.
Christian Jaworski, OF, Bloomfield Hills, 2015
6-foot, 183-pound prospect. Plus actions in the outfield with footwork and glove. Showed some arm strength throwing 80 mph from the outfield. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Even-to-closed stance with strong ability to hit the ball to all fields, showed great bat speed on pitches down in the zone from the left side of the plate. Bat speed registered at 88 mph.
Danny Wheeler, MIF/OF, Leslie, 2015
5-foot-9, 150-pound prospect. Good actions at shortstop with smooth footwork and hands. Short arm action throwing 65 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.67 60-yard dash. Gets good separation with excellent bat path at the plate in a middle of the field approach. Bat speed registered at 66 mph.
Grant Steinborn, 1B, New Lothrop, 2015
6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect. Plus actions around first base and fielding the baseball. Threw 77 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. Big time strength from the left side of the plate, even-to-closed stance with a short stride in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 90 mph.
Matthew Scher, RHP/3B, South Lyon East, 2015
5-foot-11, 195-pound prospect. Over-the-top arm action working down the mound well. Good three-pitch mix with fastball at 70-73 mph, curveball 65-66 mph, and changeup at 68-71 mph. Soft hands working his hands out in front well at third base. Threw 71 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.91 60-yard dash. Crouched stance with a toe tap stride, good strength in his bat in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 70 mph.
Zach Gilbert, RHP, Walled Lake Northern, 2015
6-foot, 175-pound prospect. High-¾ arm action with a slight pause at his balance point. Fastball was 81-83 mph with good arm-side run. 12/6 curveball was 67-69 and change with some sink at 76-77 mph. Cutter is a plus pitch with hard action at 77-78 mph.
Zachary Breen, RHP/1B, Lincoln, 2015
5-foot-11, 220-pound prospect. High-¾ arm action with good use of lower half. Fastball was 65-69 mph with good control. 12/6 curveball with gradual break at 53-57 mph. Changeup had some sink at 58-63 mph.

6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect. Good fundamental actions in the outfield with footwork and glove. Accurate arm at 76 mph. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Quick hands at the plate with a middle to pull approach and a good bat path. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.
Andy Mizerowski, C, Novi, 2016
5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect. Good stance and flexibility behind the plate. Receives and blocks the baseball well. Pop times of 2.00-2.07. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Narrow stance with quick hands in middle of the field approach. Bat speed registered at 73 mph.
5-foot-10, 150-pound prospect. Clean athletic actions in the outfield with his footwork and glove. Accurate arm at 66 mph. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Even-to-closed stance, loose quick hands direct to the baseball. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.
Corey Foster, C/MIF, Detroit Western International, 2016
5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect. Loose, athletic hips in his receiving and blocking ability behind the plate. Exceptional strong arm for pop times of 1.88-1.97. Shows good actions at shortstop, fields the ball deep. Short arm action throwing 78 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Short stride with good leverage at the plate in a middle to pull approach. Bat speed registered at 74 mph.
David Thompson, SS/3B, Harper Creek, 2016
6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect. Loose, athletic actions at shortstop with footwork and glove. Good arm strength throwing 75 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Strides slightly open, creates big noise with his bat speed and consistently barrels the ball up well. Bat speed registered at 86 mph.
Diaz Saunderson, 1B/LHP, Northville, 2016
6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect. Quick, high-¾ arm action with leverage. Fastball was 77-80 mph with arm-side run. Curveball was 62-63 mph and changeup at 66-68 mph. Athletic first baseman with range laterally, good footwork and soft hands allow him to make plus plays. Threw 76 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Even-to-even stance with a short hand to the baseball, creates leverage and strength to the baseball with plus bat speed. Bat speed registered at 93 mph.
Hunter Ruhstorfer, OF, Haslett, 2016
6-foot, 165-pound prospect. Plus actions in the outfield with good range. Long loose arm action throwing 76 mph. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. Even-to-closed stance with quick hands and plus strength in his bat. Bat speed registered at 88 mph.
Jacob Yost, RHP/SS, DeWitt, 2016
5-foot-8, 130-pound prospect. High-¾ arm action with clean mechanics. Commands fastball well at 76-79 mph. 11/5 curveball with good break at 68-73 mph and changeup at 73-74 mph. Showed soft hands at shortstop throwing 74 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.68 60-yard dash. Loose hands in an open-to-closed stance in a middle to pull approach. Bat speed registered at 73 mph.
Jake Polack, SS/2B East Lansing, 2016
5-foot-7, 150-pound prospect. Showed soft hands with good footwork at shortstop. Short arm action throwing 69 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.68 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance, uses lower half well in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 67 mph.
Jawanza Edwards, 2B/OF, Carman Ainsworth, 2016
5-foot-7, 150-pound prospect. Plus range in the outfield with good instincts, threw 75 mph. Quick feet and good body control at shortstop, threw 70 mph. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Short stride in a short, compact swing to the pull side. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.
Logan Marshall, C/3B, Salem, 2016
5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect. Solid base with good flexibility behind the plate. Above average receiver and blocker. Pop times of 1.92-2.15. Loose athletic actions at shortstop, threw 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. Short compact swing with good strength to the pull side. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.
Max Zemke, C, Lansing Catholic Central, 2016
5-foot-9, 185-pound prospect. Strong bodied catcher with good receiving and blocking skills. Pop times of 2.00-2.05 consistently on the bag. Ran a 7.43 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance with quick hands and pull side power. Bat speed registered at 75 mph.
Mitchell Dempsey, OF/SS, Adrian, 2016
5-foot-8, 150-pound prospect. Good actions in the outfield with footwork and glove, threw 70 mph. Soft hands with a short arm action at shortstop throwing 77 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Gets off backside well through swing in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.
Steven Garza, MIF, New Lothrop, 2016
5-foot-7, 155-pound prospect. Smooth actions at shortstop with quick feet, threw 72 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Narrow stance with a short stride, quick direct hand path to the baseball. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.
Thomas Zacharski, C, Southgate Anderson, 2016
6-foot, 170-pound prospect. Strong legged catcher with good flexibility in receiving the ball. Showed good reactions to blocking balls. Pop times of 2.12-2.28. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Good separation at the plate with strength and a good bat path through the zone. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.
Wyatt West, RHP, Taylor Truman, 2016
6-foot-6, 155-pound prospect. Long levers in high-¾ arm action with good extension over his front side. Fastball has some run at 73-76 mph. 11/5 slurve type breaking ball at 61-65 mph and changeup with a fading action at 65-70 mph.
Zach Prystash, OF, Northville, 2016
5-foot-7, 150-pound prospect. Showed loose, athletic actions in the outfield with his footwork and glove, accurate arm at 80 mph. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Switch-hitter at the plate, from left side shows a short compact swing with quick hands. On the right side of the plate, shows excellent plate discipline with a good bat path. Bat speed registered at 74 mph from the left side and 75 mph from the right side.
