Division 1 State Semifinal: Bay City Western vs Clarkston

EAST LANSING, MI – The defending state champ in Division 1, Bay City Western will be back in the championship game after defeating Clarkston 6-1. Bay City is looking to win its second state championship in as many trips.
The Warriors got things started early as they scored two in the second.
Hunter David roped a single up the middle, promptly stole second and moved to third on a Brandon Wise single. Tyler Snover followed with a sacrifice fly.
After a David Fagan hit-by-pitch, leadoff hitter Jason Clark singled home Wise to put the Warriors on top 2-0.
The two runs would've proved to be enough for Scott Badour on the mound who went the distance, but the Warrors kept up the offensive attack.
In the third Bay City Western scored two more.
Carson Eby laced a double to left center and advanced to third on a bunt single by Justin Gorr (Triton College commit).
With runners on the corners Badour hit a sacrifice fly. After a groundout, Wise singled and Snover hit an RBI single through the left side to put the Warriors on top 4-0.
Bay City Western added one in the fourth and one in the sixth.
In the fourth, Eby created a run on his own. The catcher was hit by a pitch, stole second and third. On the steal of third Eby came home on an overthrow to put the Warriors on top 5-0.
Clarkston got their lone run in the fourth as Nathan Witt roped a double and pinch runner Andrew Dalrymple scored on a Mitch Smith double
In the sixth, Seth Freed (Seminole State College OK commit) roped a double off the top of the wall in right field and scored on a squeeze by Gorr.
Top Performers:
- Scott Badour, went the distance on the mound allowing just one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two. At the played Badour had a sacrifice fly.
- Brandon Wise, went 3-for-4 with three singles, a run scored and a stolen base.
- Carson Eby, went 1-for-1 with a double, BB, HBP, 2 SB, 2 runs scored, RBI and a sacrifice bunt.
- Tyler Snover, had a single and two RBIs.
- David Fegan was hit by a pitch three times and had a sacrifice bunt.
