Oxford 1 No. 1 Lake Orion 0
Nick Deeg vs Nathan Morris was sure to be a big matchup and it lived up to its billing. Oxford led by Morris took down No. 1 Lake Orion 1-0. Morris worked five scoreless to pick up the win. PJ Piesko worked the final two innings in relief to pick up the save.
No. 6 Bay City John Glenn 5 Saginaw Swan Valley 4 – Bay City scored at least one run in each of its last three at-bats to get the win. Zach Olszewski got the win throwing seven innings and striking out 10. He also doubled and drove in two runs. Daryl Henderson doubled twice and Reid Baffery had two hits and drove in a run.
No. 14 Tecumseh 10-4 No. 17 Saline 0-7 – Phil Carey got the win in game one for Tecumseh throwing six innings allowing one hit and striking out eight. Eric Berki got the win in game two for Saline throwing two scoreless innings and striking out one. Andrew Wood finished the day with a homerun and five RBI and Jacob Britt finished with a homerun and three RBI for Tecumseh. Gage Hammond also homered for Tecumseh.
No. 15 Hartland 12 Walled Lake Western 6 – Jake Lowery got the win throwing four innings giving up three earned runs and striking out seven. He was tripled and homered at the plate. Ethan Vieaux also tripled and homered, driving in four runs.
No. 16 Bay City Western 15-10 Flint Powers 0-0 – Brett Adock got the win in game one going three innings allowing two hits and striking out six. Grant Rosenbrock picked up the win in game two going four innings allowing one hit and striking out four. Grant Bridgewater had a big day at the plate picking up five hits, two doubles, five RBI, and five runs scored. Grant Miller also scored five times with three hits and a RBI. Scott Badour homered and drove in four and and Matt Courtney homered and drove in two.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central 3 No. 19 Grand Rapids Christian 0 – Mike Priest got the win throwing six innings allowing five hits and striking out nine. Joe Nixon came in for the save striking out one in his inning of work. Priest was 2-4 at the plate and Taylor Smith was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and a run scored. Matt McCall also drove in a run.
No. 21 Macomb Dakota 9 Grosse Pointe South 1 – Andrew Manduzzi had a big day at the plate going 5-5 with two doubles and four RBI to lead the offense. Roskelly drove in two runs and scored twice and Boza finished 3-4 with two runs scored. Herman got the win throwing all seven innings allowing one run, seven hits, and striking out four.
Stevenson 3 No. 24 Canton 2 – Canton tied the game at two in the top of the sixth inning, but Mike Kanitra came through with an RBI single in the bottom to give Stevenson the lead back. Kanitra also got the win on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing one earned run, five hits, and striking out seven. Austin Stevens also drove in a run for Stevenson.
Harrison 3 No. 25 North Farmington 2 - Nick Cangemi got the win throwing 4.1 innings allowing two runs on four hits and striking out three. Joe Carter came in for the last 2.2 innings and didn’t allow a hit to preserve the win. Craig Wilson and Jevon Shaw each drove in a run and Dan Sanders doubled and scored twice in the game.
Bay City Central 21-11 Flint Northern 0-0 – Tyler Wiechec and Austin Koziatek each threw three innings in their two rins. Weichec allowed no hits and struck out seven and Koziatek allowed no hits and struck out eight.
Birch Run 20 Chesaning 7 – Kris Koko had a big day at the plate finishing with three hits, two doubles, two walks, two RBI, and five runs scored. Joe Rudd homered and drove in three and William Periard homered and drove in four.
Brooklyn Columbia Central 6 Addison 1 – Scott McCormick got the win throwing all seven innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out nine. Scott Knaup led the offense going 2-3 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored. Dustin Hardt was 2-4 with a double and a run, Roonie Crist scored twice, and Brandon Herzberg had a RBI and a run scored.
Burton Bentley 10-3 Flint Hamady 0-2 – Matt McCollum got the win in game one throwing a six inning no hitter, allowing two walks and striking out 15. Tyler Putnam got the win in game two throwing three innings.
Clarkston 8 Adams 2 – Mazzone and Ryan Rea both went 2-3 in the game to lead the offense. Mazzone had RBI and scored twice and Rea doubled, drove in two, and scored once. Martens doubled and scored a run. Alex Peck got the win throwing seven innings giving up two runs on six hits and striking out eight.
Dexter 5 Monroe 1 – Mackay Little got the win throwing all seven innings allowing one unearned run, three hits, and striking out five. Cole Rize led the offense going 2-3 with a homerun and three RBI. Greg Goffee was 2-4 with a double and a RBI and Jon Haley drove in a run.
Flint Carman-Ainsworth 9 Saginaw Heritage 4 – Brennan Gleason got the win throwing four shutout innings and striking out seven. Flint opened the game up with a five run third inning, Entrive Mitchell homered and drove in two and Vincent Lang doubled and drove in two.
Galesburg-Augusta 2 Mendon 1 – Luke Ragotzy got the win throwing six innings allowing three hits and striking out nine. Kyle Mallwitz came on in the seventh striking out all three batters he faced to get the save. Dylan Whitney and Kyle Hoyt each drove in a run.
Grand Blanc 4 White Lake 0 – Curtis Fry threw a one hitter in the win striking out 11. Ryan Barkowiak was 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored and Sean Ritchey hit a solo homerun.
Grandville Calvin Christian 6 Grand Rapid NorthPointe Christian 1 – Josh DeYoung threw five shutout innings to get the win allowing just one hit and striking out 11. He also had two hits and drove in two runs. Seth Ritsema doubled and drove in two runs.
Holly 4-0 Ortonville-Barndon 0-5 – Joel Perry got the win in game one for Holly, throwing a no hitter over seven innings and striking out six. Max Wardell came back with a no hitter to get a win for Ortonville in game two, going five innings and striking out 10.
Huron 1 Chelsea 0 – Joe Cleary was dominant on the mound throwing a complete game shutout allowing just three hits, one walk, and striking out five to get Huron the win. Demetrius Sims came through with a big double in the sixth that scored Victory Phillips to break the 0-0 tie. Logan Marable was very good on the mound for Chelsea going six innings allowing just one run on two hits and striking out four.
Huron 6 Chelsea 5 – Domenic DiGiovine led the offense going 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Bobby Knutilla and Nasheed Bass each had a hit, RBI, and scored a run. David Leipold and Victor Phillips also drove in a run in the win.
Kent City 4 Wyoming Kelloggsville 0 – Austin Thompson threw five innings allowing two hits and striking out eight to get the win. Jake Krueger threw the final two innings not allowing a hit and striking out three. Krueger was also 2-4 with a double and a run and Thompson drove in two and scored once. Justin Phillips also drove in a run.
Lakeview 1 Marine City 0 – Matt Brand threw all seven innings to get the win allowing five hits and striking out seven. Brand scored Lakeview’s one run and Nick White was 2-3 with a double.
Linden 6-6 Lapeer East 4-3 – Bryce Benedict got the win in game one throwing all seven innings allowing no earn runs and striking out three. Austin Buerkel got the win in game two throwing five innings allowing one earned run and six hits. Mitchell Ryan was 3-4 in the two games with three doubles, Buerkel had a triple, homerun, and two RBI, and Mitch Juhl finished 4-7 with a double.
Lumen Christi 11-6 Michigan Center 1-3 – Jacob Lincoln got the win in game one throwing five innings and striking out five and Jamie Hesslau got the win in game two throwing four innings striking out three. Lincoln had four RBI and two doubles, Justin O’Dowd had five RBI and two doubles, and Chris Gaddy drove in three runs.
Midland Dow 3 Flushing 0 – Alexander Sova got the win throwing four innings allowing one hit and striking out five, he also drove in two runs at the plate. Adam Fitzgibbon drove in a run and Rico Angell had two hits.
Midland 13 Davison 1 – Midland scored six runs in the top of the sixth to get the six inning victory. Matthew Somers got the win throwing six innings allowing one unearned run, three hits, and striking out four.
Mona Shores 3 East Kentwood 2 – Kyle Lawson got the win throwing four innings not allowing a hit or a walk and striking out 10. Gage Veltman went 2-3 with a RBI and Austin Swiatek also drove in a run in the win.
Monroe 3 Dexter 0 – Travis Peterson got the win throwing six innings allowing two hits and striking out six.
Morenci 12 Vandercook Lake 11 – Morenci took the lead thanks to a seven run sixth inning, but allowed Vandercook to tie the game with three in the top of the seventh. Morenci responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to get the win. Decker finished 2-4 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored and Sandusky was 2-2 with a RBI and four runs scored. Borton added two RBI.
Northville 9 Hudson 4 – Jake Hansen got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just one earned run while striking out five. Zach Wilds went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored and Brandon Patrone was 1-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Jake Cheslik and Taylor Turner each had a hit and drove in two runs.
Otisville Lakeville Memorial 11 Clio 5 – Jacob Butterfield was 2-3 with three RBI to lead the offense, Todd Brown was 2-4, and Harley Lane was 2-3. Brown also got the win throwing 5.1 innings allowing three runs on three hits and striking out nine.
Piconning 10 Standish Sterling 5 – Blake Herner got the win throwing five innings allowing three runs and striking out four. Jacob Backus threw the last two innings striking out three.
Riverview 7 Milan 4 – Vowell and Rasky led the offense both going 2-4 in the game. Vowell doubled, drove in three runs and scored once, while Rasky homered, drove in two, and scored once. Agius walked twice and scored three runs.
Royal Oak 12 Bloomfield Hills Andover 7 – Chad Skarjune got the win throwing five innings allowing one run and striking out nine. Joe Hardwood led the offense going 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI
Skyline 7 Ypsilanti 0 – Jack Clark threw six strong innings allowing just three hits, one walk, and striking out seven to get the win. At the plate he was 2-3 with a double, triple, and two runs. Justin Woods went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored and Brody Stevens drove in two runs.
Skyling 6 Ypsilanti 0 – Matt Blunk got the win throwing all five innings allowing just three hits, one walk, and striking out eight. Joel Frison and Patrick Walker both went 2-3 in the game, Frison scored twice and Walker doubled. Jack Clark drove in a run and scored once and Rudy Gerdenich had a RBI.
Southgate 8 Lincoln Park 2 – Southgate had nine hits in the game led by Tyler Shumake who went 3-4 with a run scored. Tyler Hall was 2-3 with two RBI and Greg Galetto went 2-3 with a run scored. Shane Freitag and Bobby Bellon each had a hit and drove in a run. Galetto also picked up the win throwing four shutout innings allowing five hits and striking out one.
Southfield-Lathrup 6 Pontiac 0 – Johnny Slater threw all seven innings to no hit Pontiac while striking out 13.
Stoney Creek 10 Rochester 0 – Kyle Schweiger got the win throwing all five innings allowing three hits and striking out eight. Eric Gilgenbach homered, drove in three runs, walked twice, and scored three times. Justin Allor went 2-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored and Joe Cox finished 1-1 with two walks, two RBI, and a run scored.
Swartz Creek 2-0 Fenton 1-2 – Austin Gibson got the win in game one for Swartz Creek, throwing two innings without allowing a run. Sam Coffey got the win for Fenton in game two going five innings allowing one hit and striking out six.
Trenton 3 Allen Park 2 – Wesley Sorenson got the win on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out nine. Drew Johnson, Garrett Vandenberg, and Brady Tanquay all drove in runs for Trenton. Eric Szczepaniak doubled and scored a run.
Trenton 4 Annapolis 1 – Grant Dukas got the in throwing three innings allowing one run on two hits. Jerry Labell threw 2.2 innings not allowing a hit and striking out five and Wesley Sorenson threw 1.1 innings striking out all four batters he faced. Labell and Sorenson each drove in a run and JT Conti scored twice.
Trenton 13 Annapolis 6 – Grant Dukas finished the day 2-5 with a double, three RBI, and a run scored. Christian Mercure was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored and Garrett Vandenberg was 2-5 with two runs. Drew Johnson and Jerry Labell each drove in two runs and scored once.
Utica 5 Lake Shore 4 F/8 – Nick Brown capped off a 3-4 day with a RBI single in the bottom of the 8th to give Utica the win. Taylor Curtis was 3-4 with a double, triple, and run scored and Will Young doubled and drove in two runs. Curtis also got the win on the mound throwing all eight innings allowing three earned runs and striking out 10.
Wayne Memorial 6 South Lyon East 0 – Kody Wojewski got the win throwing three innings allowing one hit and striking out two. Chris Briggs and Tyler Harnos each threw two innings without allowing a hit. Wojewski was also 3-4 with two RBI. Jimmy Herdon went 3-3 with a RBI and two runs and Josh Howry doubled and drove in two runs.
West Bloomfield 6 Farmington 0 – Chandler Sedat got the win throwing all seven innings allowing just three hits and walking one in the shutout. Matt Curtis doubled and drove in two runs in the win.
