In day 3 action from the final day of the Maryland Mid-Summer Classic…
Stars Baseball 17u Blue 6, Blue Chips 2017 1
Jake Kleifges goes 2-for-3 with two doubles and Scott Morgan (George Mason) goes 2-for-3 to lead Stars to the victory. Brandon Luke and Graeme Wright kept a potent Blue Chips lineup at bay for the day en route to the victory. Robbie Palmeri, Adam Overcash, Jimmy Elmore and Blake Godwin all had hits for Blue Chips.
API 17u 5, Blue Chips 2018 1
Justin Pelletreau goes 1-for-1 with two RBI to lead API in the victory. Eric Rottmann and Fernando Valenzuela combine to hold Blue Chips to one run on five hits on the day. Connor Feustle and Eric Raley paced Blue Chips, each with a double.
Maryland Legends Black 10, Bigbies Blacksox 0
Brady Stamper goes 3-for-4 while Tim Glavin, Gage Walklett, and Johnny Kampes each have two hits to lead Legends Black to the victory. Luke Rettig struck out six on the mound in the complete game victory.
NoVa Show 17u 5, Boonsboro Bombers 2
Ethan Gaines, Ty Snider and Brent Spille each have two hits to lead NoVa Show in their victory. Phillip Forgacs has one hit and two RBI in the winning effort. Ben Kimberlin goes the distance for NoVa on the mound in the complete game victory. Brendan Kemp paces the Boonsboro offense with a 2-for-2 day.
Maryland Legends Black 6, York Young Revolution 5
Cam Blankenship and Tim Glavin have two hits each to lead Maryland Legends to the one run victory. Tyler Stabley paced the Revolution with two hits on the day.
Blue Chips 2019 5, Maryland Legends Red 2
Hunter Wright went six innings giving up two runs and had a hit of his own to lead Blue Chips 2019 to the victory. Johnny Galant added a hit and RBI for Blue Chips while Phil Winfield led the team going 2-for-2 on the day. Lucas Gardner led Legends Red going 2-for-3 and Andrew Goudeaux went 2-for-2.

Cam Blankenship had an impressive day behind the plate for Maryland legends showing a 1.95 pop time behind the plate and worked hard behind the plate with soft hands and nice body control blocking balls…York LHP Tyler Stabley impressed on the mound for the Young Revolution pitching 80-83 on the mound to go with a 64-65 mph breaking ball and 68 mph change…2018 Luke Rettig has a projectable lanky frame at 6-foot-2, 155-pounds. He has a long free arm action and got up to 83 from the left side and showed nice feel for a 2/8 breaking ball with late movement…Josh Bobbitt got up to 85 mph in his second appearance of the tournament…Noah Brack of Bigbies Blacksox has a lnaky projectable frame and was up to 81 mph on the mound and added a breaking ball with nice depth on the pitch…RHP 2017 Brandon Luke pitched 80-83 topping out at 85 mph for Stars Baseball 17u Blue from an almost over the top arm angle…Will Glock pitched 81-83 on the mound for Blue Chips 2018 topping out at 84 mph with a shorter athletic arm action…2017 Ben Kimberlin kept hitters off balance all day pitching from a low side arm angle and the ability to get cut, sink, and run on his fastball that got up to 63 mph…2020 Hunter Wright had a short clean arm action with a sound delivery pitching 70-72 mph and looks like he should continue to develop.
