Season Outlook
The Patriots are looking to build off the 2015 season where they finished 8-8 in the tough MIAA A, making it to the quarter final of the conference tournament. Leading the way on the offensive end is C Matt Lozinak. Lozinak is one of te most experienced players on the team going into his fourth year at the varsity level with a solid frame gap-to-gap ability at the plate make for a well-rounded catcher in the conference. Senior Will Tokarski and junior Tae Bogan should provide pop in the middle of the lineup throughout the year. Keep an eye out for sophomores Ryan Archibald and RJ Price who are two welcome additions to the team and should make an impact for the Patriots.
On the mound look for senior Paul Wilson and sophomore Nick Collier anchor the staff. Wilson, a Millersville recruit, is a tall projectable right-handed pitcher with more in the tank. Collier is a lefty with deception in his delivery shows three pitches with solid action and shape. Collier is looking to build off a strong freshman campaign this year. Rounding out the staff will be senior Nick Turnbull and junior Alex Marlow which give Carroll good depth at the top of the rotation.
As with most, defensive consistency will play a factor into the success of the Patriot season. There were plenty of games last year in which a defensive miscue ultimately was the difference in the end result. The Patriots have a nice foundation of players for the future along with a strong senior core to make it a very interesting player in the MIAA A. Keep an eye out for the Patriots.
