2016 BASEBALL PLAYERS TO KEEP AN EYE ON

Jackson Gillis is a left-handed pitcher out of Wilmington High School. He stand 6-foot-2, 200-pounds with an athletic build and a solid bottom half. He shows an above average fastball already and the makings of two high level secondary pitches. Look for him to be on the high level circuit this coming summer as he gets courted by colleges and pro scouts.

Ryan January, who recently committed to LSU, is a left-handed hitting catcher out of the Salisbury School. He has shown the ability to catch and throw at a high level. His bat is a gap-to-gap approach right now but we feel with experience his bat could make a jump with power. He has spent his summer in Georgia playing for East Cobb so the jump to the high level in college shouldn't be as difficult for this young man.

Alex Brickman is a physical 6-foot-3 two-way prospect (3B/RHP) who attends Worcester Academy. We look for Alex to open many eyes this year with his ability to handle the bat and be a force on the mound as well.

Conor Moriarty, University of Connecticut commit, attends West Springfield High School. The shortstop has shown above average arm strength, foot speed, and fielding ability. His offense production will come from his ability handle the barrel and run the bases. Moriarty is a good looking prospect on the diamond and also an All-State soccer player.

Scott Holzwasser is a slick fielding middle infielder who attends Lincoln Sudbury High School. He plays for the New England Ruffnecks outside of the high school season. You can certainly list him as one of the better looking middle infielders in New England.

Joe Walsh has already made his college decision and will attend Boston College. Walsh is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound left-handed pitcher who can run his fastball up in the upper 80’s, with a sharp and at times nasty slider in the upper 70’s.

Jake Goodreau is a big physical left-handed hitting catcher who can also play first base. His left-handed bat has shown juice to the pull side and his feel for the barrel is advanced at this point. His work behind the plate is simple, he receives the ball efficiently, his feet and release make the transition phase easy for him. Jake attends Southwick-Tolland Regional High School

Jake Rosen is a Virginia Tech commit who attends St. John’s Shrewsbury High School. Rosen is a 5-foot-11, right-handed hitting infielder. Jake is a good looking prospect with solid tools across the board. He has shown above average arm strength, good fielding ability, and the ability to handle the bat. We expect him to refine his skills these coming years, making himself into quite a player.
