With the recent release of Prep Baseball Report’s Overall 2018 Rankings, PBR-Louisiana is revealing its updated class of 2018 Louisiana rankings.
+ RHP Landon Marceaux {Destrehan HS} retains his No. 1 spot after an electric performance at the Pre-Season All-State Games on November 7. His fastball sat 87-89 mph with command and life, as he also showed plus secondary stuff and advanced pitchability.
+ High school teammate of Marceaux, RHP Bryce Scioneaux checks in at No. 2, as he also showed extremely well at the Pre-Season All-State Games. Displaying a fastball that ranges from 84-86 mph, even touching an 88 mph at times, and a present solid breaking ball with tight spin and depth, make Scioneaux a premier pitching prospect that remains on the open market.
+ Future Games participant INF Jordin LaBruzza {Brother Martin HS} comes in at No. 3 after a successful fall with the Louisiana Knights. The 5-foot-9 infielder displays advanced defensive ability, posted a 6.93 60 yard dash, continues to show an advanced hit tool with bat speed, and he had success against premium arms starting with the Future Games that continued throughout the fall.
+ INF Gavin Dugas {Houma Christian HS} bursted on the scene at the Pre-Season All-State Games, as well as playing for national power, Marucci Elite this fall. A physical athlete that posted a 6.82 60 yard dash, Dugas displays a simple, powerful right-handed stroke with advanced, present power.
+ SS Brian Lawerence {Barbe HS} is a player to watch for this spring. Although he did not get much playing time on the varsity level for the state champs he possess an interesting tool set that could sky rocket him this spring.
This edition of the 2018 rankings was expanded from 20 to 25 players. A few new additions include: Jay Curtis {John Curtis HS}, Chris Collet {Holy Cross HS}, Alex Guidry {Brother Martin HS}, and Bart Lane Thomas {Walker HS}.
