On Saturday, November 7, more than 50 of the top prospects from across the state of Louisiana participated in the Prep Baseball Report Pre-Season All-State Games at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.

Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana takes a look at the catchers that were in attendance.
Top Catcher
1. Keelyn Johnson, C, Pineville HS(2016)
A 5-foot-10, 165-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, quick footwork, quick transfer, and stays athletic. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and plus life on throws that produced a positional velocity of 79 mph and a pop time of 1.8 seconds. Right-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, explosive lower half, and excellent balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path and explosive bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 92 mph. Also posted a 7.12 60 yard dash.

A 5-foot-11, 180-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and a clean, easy transfer. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph and a pop time of 1.85 seconds. Right-handed hitter that hits from an athletic setup, short stride, explosive lower half and solid balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 87 mph. Also posted a 6.94 60 yard dash.

A 5-foot-9, 195-pound catcher with compact, strong frame. Quality defender with soft hands, quick footwork, and a quick, clean exchange. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 79 mph and a pop time of 1.94 seconds. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, explosive lower half and solid balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, slightly uphill path and explosive bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 88 mph. Also posted a 7.57 60 yard dash.

A 6-foot, 170-pound catcher with a lean, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, quick and clean exchange. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws and a pop time of 1.97 seconds and a positional velocity of 75 mph. Right-handed hitter with an athletic setup, smooth load, short stride, and solid balance. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path and bat speed that produced an 80 mph exit velocity. Also posted a 7.2 60 yard dash.

A 5-foot-9, 170-pound catcher with an average, strong frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork and a quick exchange. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws and plus arm strength that produced a positional velocity of 79 mph and a pop time of 2.01 seconds. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, leg kick, solid lower half and balance. Line-drive type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path, and solid bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 76 mph. Also posted a 7.00 60 yard dash.
