X-FACTOR
Chase Behler. First team all-NEK performer a year ago is the Ravens top returning pitcher. Last spring the right-hander punched out 61 batters in 53 innings.
NEWCOMER TO WATCH
Cole Siebenmorgen, LHP/1B, 2015. Siebermorgan was injured last spring but is back to 100% for his senior season. As a sophomore, the left-hander was first team all-NEK dialing in a 5-2 record and 1.91 ERA.
2015 OUTLOOK
With the return of seven players from their every line-up and four pitchers with significant innings expectations are high for MHMA this spring as they attempt to unseat defending champion Valley Falls for the Northeast Kansas League title this spring. Pitching should be a strength, as their starting rotation includes two former all-league pitchers in seniors RHP Chase Behler and LHP Cole Siebenmorgan. They also return all-league performers in senior C/OF Jake Schmidt (.652 SLG% in 2014) and sophomore LHP/1B Noah Baniewicz (.500 OBP%, 2-1 record on the mound). 6-foot-2,, 230-pound senior 3B Dillon Kramer will be looked to provide some right-handed punch in the middle of their line-up. Another key player for the Ravens will be junior RHP/IF Harry Trotter who started in the middle infield last spring and also pitched 23 innings with a 2.91 ERA. Look for two athletic sophomores to enter the fold this spring and be a factor in SS/OF Nick Caudle, who Coach Baniewicz refers to as “the best athlete in the school” that lettered in four sports as a freshman; and OF Tobin Kocour, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound three-sport athlete for MHMA.
