TOP RETURNERS (College Commitment)
Michael Sinks, SS/RHP, 2015 (Palomar College) – 2nd Team All-Sunflower League
Brad Kincaid, IF/RHP, 2016
Daonte Lowery, LHP/OF, 2016 – HM All-Sunflower League
Parker Kirkpatrick, IF/RHP, 2016 – 2nd Team All-Sunflower League
X-FACTOR
Michael Sinks. Sinks hit .373 with 20 runs scored and 15 RBI last spring on his way to being named 2nd Team All-Sunflower League as the Chesty Lions shortstop.
NEWCOMER TO WATCH
Nolan Prochaska, RHP, 2015 (Coffeyville CC). Prochaska moves across town from Lawrence Free State HS to Lawrence for his senior season.
KEY PLAYER LOST
Drew Green, C, 2014. Green established himself as one of the top left-hand hitters in the state his junior year and continued to cause problems for opposing pitchers his senior year hitting .387 and a .581 slugging percentage while walking a team-leading 18 times. At season’s end he was named KABC 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Sunflower League.
2015 OUTLOOK
The Chesty Lions lose several All-Sunflower performers off of last year’s club, namely the big bat of left-hand hitting catcher Drew Green. Coach Stoll looks for senior IF Michael Sinks to build on last year’s All-Sunflower League campaign this spring and experienced juniors IF/RHP Brad Kincaid (2.65 ERA in 10 IP), LHP/OF Daonte Lowery (2.85 ERA, 19 IP) and IF/RHP Parker Kirkpatrick (hit .369, 2nd Team All-Sunflower) to play key roles. Seniors 2B/RHP Nate Hulse and OF/RHP Zakary McAlister-Klausner should see an expanded role in 2015 as well as junior OF Luke Padilla. Lawrence welcomes senior RHP Nolan Prochaska, a Coffeyville CC signee, a transfer from cross-town rival Free State.
