Director, PBR Indiana
Today's Unsigned Senior Spotlight is on Greenwood High School SS/RHP Mitch Caster. Caster, currently ranked No. 166 in the 2014 class, attended last October's Unsigned Senior Showcase in Indianapolis.
Caster is a 6-foot, 180 pound SS that moves well defensively with above average hands. Across the diamond he is 76 mph. Offensively, he starts narrow with an overall simple approach to the baseball. His swing is short and compact, consistently producing line drives. He needs to improve on the use of his lower half.
On the mound the RHP sat 78-80 mph with his fastball. He throws from a high ¾ slot with a short, quick arm action. Caster's delivery is simple and repeatable with good balance throughout. He shows good arm speed on the breaking ball, but struggles keeping it down in the zone. HIs 70-72 mph changeup shows good depth with some late action.
