The 2016 Prep Baseball Report Future Games begin next week at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. Uncommitted prospects from the 2018-2019 classes will take the field for a workout and two days of games with more than 100 college programs watching. Looking ahead to the event, we’ve previewed the top position players coming, as well as the top pitchers. Finally, we look at the best sophomores that will be in attendance.
Jaden Brown, SS, St. Marcellinus SS, ON
Brown is athletic at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. He has very good bat speed at the plate with electric hands and power in his swing. The ball jumps off his bat and he works mostly to his pull side. He’s still learning to hit, but stays balanced while showing his power potential. Defensively, he has the athleticism to stay at short, though his hands and feet are still learning to work together. His throws have carry across the diamond and he works from a 3/4 slot. His best 60 time so far is 7.16, but his dad was a Division I sprinter and that time could improve down the road.
