Team Preview: Edison Eagles

Coach Tony Hicks and the Edison High School Eagles finished 2012 with a 10-20 overall record and a 5-9 mark in the Greater South Shore Conference, good enough for a 5th place finish. Coach Hicks returns five starters and four pitchers.
Returning for the Eagles is senior infielder Chris Szoztek, a 2012 IHSBCA All-Star. Szoztek led the team with a .329 batting average. Matt Forsythe, junior first baseman, is a returning starter who hit .346 for the Eagles. Coach Hicks also expects contribution from juniors Robert Fazekas (C) and Tyler Ramirez (2B).
Sophomores Kody Lemley (SS/P) and Jose Silva (3B) will be impact player for the Eagles in 2013 as they chase contenders Bishop Noll and Wheeler for a conference championship.
