One of a handful of underclassmen at the 2014 Super 60, Watson has been on the radar since he was a freshman. At Indiana’s Preseason All-State event in February 2012, he showed good athleticism and arm strength. He is advanced physically with a 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame and has legitimate two-way ability. He was named the MVP of the 2013 Midwest Future Games after striking out five batters in two innings and collecting a two-run triple against Team Wisconsin. His fastball ranged from 85-90 and he mixed in a 73-74 curveball.
