Director, PBR Indiana
Caleb Milner, an IF from Martinsville High School, recently committed to Olney Central. Milner is a 6-foot, 185 pound senior. He attended the Preseason All State showcase last February in Indianapolis where he was solid defensively and showcased a quick bat with some projectable power.
Below Milner discusses his commitment:
PBR: Why did you choose Olney?
Milner: I chose Olney because it was a great fit not only for baseball, but also for my education.
PBR: Where did Olney first see you compete?
Milner: Olney first saw me compete my sophomore fall season. I've played 5 different games at Olney against them in the last 3 years.
PBR: Were there any other schools you were considering?
Milner: Heidelberg University and Lincoln Trail.
PBR: What do the coaches expect of you when you first arrive on campus?
Milner: Coaches are expecting me to work hard on and off the field. I know when I get there, I will be moving from short stop to third and I will be competing for the starting spot.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer, and how have they impacted you as a baseball player?
Milner: I've played with the Indiana Irish the past 3 summers and they have made a big impact on me as a player. They've put us in some big tournaments in front of some college scouts. I appreciate everything they've done for me the last couple years.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Milner: My dad definitely has the biggest impact on me as a player. He's always there to throw to me in the cage or hit me ground balls. He has always pushed me to be the best.
PBR: What are your goals heading in to the off-season?
Milner: My goals heading into the off season are to really work hard in the weight room and in the cage.
PBR: What are your goals both personally and as a team next spring?
Milner: My goals for next spring personally are to really start off strong. Last year, I didn't start the season as I would have liked to at the plate. As a team, I want to win conference and bring home a sectional title.
PBR: What is your fondest baseball memory to date?
Milner: My greatest memory is from my freshman year sectionals, my first sectional at bat, I went back to back with our catcher Ben Elliot to start off the first inning.
