The Inaugural Preseason Underclass Preview took place on Sunday, February 22nd, at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, IN with a total of 86 underclassmen in attendance; 53 2017's, 26 2018's and seven 2019's. Below we take a look at the 19 outfielders who attended the event.

Michael Brewer, OF, FW Snider HS, 2018: An athletic 6-foot, 175 pound freshman showcased athletic defensive actions and a strong accurate arm with life at 90 mph. Quick, clean exchange and plays though the baseball with athleticism. Hits from balanced setup, slightly open. Uses a slight leg kick and shows good balance. Generates quick bat speed hitting hard line drives with gap-to-gap power. Good approach to the baseball. Recorded a high exit velocity of 87 mph. Ran a 6.75-60.
Roy Thurman, OF, North Central HS, 2017: 6-foot, 200 pound sophomore possesses a strong, athletic frame with a strong lower half. Possesses athletic actions with an accurate arm at 82 mph. Hits from an athletic setup showing excellent balance throughout the swing. Possesses quick bat speed producing present power. Hands are quick to the baseball and consistently barrels up the all. Recorded a high exit velocity of 85 mph. Possesses pro tools at the plate. Ran a 6.94-60.
Evan Huffman, OF, Southern Wells HS, 2017: 6-foot-1, 180 pounder was 82 from the outfield from an over the top slot with accuracy. Choppy feet . Ran a 7.25-60. Offensively, hits from a balanced setup. Load is smooth and shows good use of the lower half. Possesses quick bat speed with fluid rhythm throughout the swing. Path is short and quick to the baseball displaying gap power. Recorded a high exit velocity of 92 mph.
Corbin Cox, OF, Pendleton Heights HS, 2017: 6-foot-1, 205 pound sophomore showcased a long arm action from the OF up to 84 mph with some stiffness. Fluid feet and plays through the baseball. Ran a 6.92-60. At the plate starts balanced, using a short stride. Smooth load back with quick hands. Showcased some barrel whip consistently barreling up the baseball. Strong hitter. Recorded a high exit velo of 90 mph.
Evan Aders, OF, Jasper HS, 2017: 6-foot-4, 190 pound sophomore possesses a long, athletic frame. Possesses quick, fluid feet and moves well in the field. Good athleticism with soft hands. Up to 80 mph from the OF with some carry. At the plate starts balanced and tall. Stride is short with good balance throughout the swing. Possesses a quick bat with some twitch. Long path to the baseball, hard contact. Recorded a high exit velo of 91 mph and ran a 7.07-60.

Kyle Callahan, OF, Zionsville HS, 2018: 6-foot-2, 185 pound freshman displayed easy, athletic actions in the field. Was up to 87 from the outfield, but lacked carry. At the plate starts open. Dives during his stride. Above average bat speed. Hands work. Tendency to close himself off. Registered a high exit velo of 84 mph and ran a 7.12-60. Projects more as a pitcher.
Aaron Ernst, OF, Carmel HS, 2017: 6-foot, 155 pound outfielder possesses a long, lean frame. Possesses quick, fluid feet and plays through the baseball. Was 88 from the outfield with carry and accuracy. At the plate starts balanced with a smooth load. Stride is short with average use of the lower half. Showcased some bat speed with a good path to the baseball. Gap to gap potential with fluid rhythm throughout the swing. Recorded a high exit velo of 80 mph and ran a 7.51-60.
Nikolos Kavadas, OF, Penn HS, 2017: 6-foot, 205 pound sophomore possesses a strong, muscular frame. Defensively showcased average hands with a quick, loose arm. Up to 87 from the outfield some carry and accuracy. At the plate the LHH starts open and loads back. Tendency to over rotate the lower half. Shows good balance throughout his swing. Possesses some bat speed and barrels up the baseball with some pop. Recorded a high exit velo of 80 mph and ran a 7.68-60.
Jack Kellams, OF, Center Grove HS, 2017: 6-foot-3, 200 pounder possesses a strong, physical frame. Defensively showcased raw actions. Loose, ¾ arm action up to 84 from the OF with some carry. Offensively, starts narrow. Hands drop during the load. Stride is short. Tendency to over rotate his lower half. Possesses quick bat speed with an uphill path to the baseball. Showcased a simple swing with strong hands producing hard contact. Recorded a high exit velo of 89 mph and ran a 7.22-60.
Carter Lohman, OF, Hamilton Southeastern HS, 2018: 6-foot-1, 170 pound left-handed freshman possesses an athletic, projectable frame. Showcased quick, fluid feet defensively. Long arm action up to 83 mph with carry. Ran a 6.86-60. At the plate starts closed and uses a short stride. Some use of the lower half with good balance throughout the swing. Possesses average bat speed. Line drive hitter. Recorded a high exit velo of 80 mph. Projects more on the mound.
Corbin Maddox, OF, Daleville HS, 2017: 5-foot-10, 180 pound sophomore plays through the baseball with average hands. Long arm action, high ¾ slot. Was 78 from the OF with average strength. Plays uphill, choppy feet. At the plate the LHH starts balanced and uses a short stride. Loads back. Average bat speed, slightly uphill path. Tendency to drift. Recorded a high exit velo of 82 mph and ran a 6.95-60.
Allbry Major, OF, North Central HS, 2017: 6-foot-3, 170 pound sophomore possesses a lanky, athletic frame. Showcased fluid defensive actions with some twitch. Arm action was long and loose from an over the top slot. Up to 80 mph with some carry and accuracy. Ran a 7.19-60. At the plate hits from both sides of the plate. From both sides starts open, stride is short. Dives to the ball during the stride. Tendency to over rotate the lower half. Possesses some bat speed with a long path. Line drive hitter. Mirrored swing from both sides.
Dallas Matlock, OF, Southport HS, 2018: 5-foot-10, 145 pound freshman showcased a long , high ¾ arm action up to 72 from the OF. Stiff defensive actions. Ran a 7.85-60. Offensively, the LHH starts balanced and uses a short stride. Loads back. Choppy rhythm, bat drags through the zone. Recorded a high exit velo of 74 mph.
Gregory Pietsch, OF, North Montgomery, 2017: 5-foot-11, 195 pounder showcased average hands defensively in the OF with heavy feet. Long arm action up to 77 mph. Offensively, hands start low. No load. Tendency to fly open. Average bat speed with a good approach to the ball. Compact swing, stays inside the ball. Recorded a high exit velo of 77 mph. Ran a 7.83-60.
Bryce Randolph, OF, Noblesville HS, 2018: 5-foot-6, 135 pound freshman was 71 from the OF from a short, ¾ arm action. Showcased some accuracy. Ran a 7.64-60. Offensively, hits from a closed setup. Hands drop during the load. Dives during the stride. Good balance throughout the swing. Average bat speed, level path to the baseball. Recorded a high exit velo of 74 mph.
Brandon Reid, OF, Brownsburg HS, 2017: 5-foot-9, 170 pounder showcased a strong arm with carry at 90 mph from the outfield. Displayed soft hands with fluid footwork. Plays through the baseball well with athleticism. Good defensive actions. Offensively, hits from a slight crouch setup. Loads back and uses a short stride. Good balance throughout the swing, tendency to over rotate the lower half. Shows some twitch. Barrels up the baseball. Ran a 7.31-60.
Michael Ryan, OF, North Central HS, 2017: 5-foot-8, 165 pound sophomore showcased soft hands in the field with fluid footwork. Flat feet. Overall average actions. Up to 77 from the field from a short, ¾ arm action. Long release. Ran a 7.34-60. Offensively, hits from a balanced setup with average balance throughout the swing. Stride is short. Shows some stiffness. Recorded a high exit velo of 75 mph.
Trevor Waite, OF, Penn HS, 2017: 6-foot, 190 pounder showcased quick feet and moves well. Quick, clean exchange. Throws from a high ¾ slot with average strength at 79 mph. Plays fast. Ran a 6.95-60. At the plate the LHH starts slightly open and uses a short stride with some use of the lower half. Short, compact swing. Level path, line drive hitter. Recorded a high exit velo of 81 mph.
Garrett Welch, OF, New Castle HS, 2017: 6-foot-3, 175 pound sophomore possesses a lanky frame. From the OF was 82 mph from a high ¾ slot. Footwork was choppy and fielded the ball deep. Ran a 7.12-60. At the plate possesses a bat wrap during the load. Coils the front side, and closes himself off after the stride. Long path to the ball, line drive hitter. Possesses some bat speed. Recorded a high exit velo of 82 mph.
