Coach Ryan Long and the Frontier Falcons enter the 2013 season with plans to build on a Midwest Conference championship. Coach Long returns six starters and four pitchers from his 2012 squad that finished a perfect 14-0 in conference play and with a 23-7 record overall.
Leading the way for the Falcons will be senior Hunter Gladfish. Gladfish led the pitching staff with an 8-1 record and 1.06 ERA. He also hit .342 at the plate. Junior shortstop Brandon Gallinger led the Falcons at the plate last season hitting .432 and swiping 25 bags. Junior catcher Kyle Mikesell was also a force at the plate last season, hitting .424 with 30 RBI.
Other top returners include second baseman Austin Woolley and outfielder Kolby Lopp. Sophomore transfer Michael Hirt looks to contribute to an already deep lineup.
Frontier will battle with Tri-County and North White for the Midwest Conference championship. The 2013 Falcons are experienced and poised for a deep postseason run.
