Preseason Preview: Concordia Lutheran HS
February 7, 2013
Coach Lance Hershberger and his Concordia Lutheran HS baseball team will be looking to improve on their overall 13-16 record and 4-3 conference record in the Summit Athletic Conference this spring. Gone from the 2012 team are the majority of the starting line up as they only returns three starters and one pitcher.
The Cadets will lean heavily on 6-foot-7, senior right handed pitcher Brian Gremaux. Gremaux was an All-Conference selection last year and was 8-3 on the mound while hitting .356 at the plate. Players that will need to step up for Hershberger’s squad include senior Brock Brenneman, juniors Jon Poore, Caleb Wynn, sophomore Jimmy Mallers, and freshman Mitch Parridine. The Cadets hope to have Parradine and Brenneman hitting in the middle of the order while Poore and Mallers set the table.
2013 expects to be a rebuilding year for Concordia Lutheran, but as the young pieces come together they could surprise some people late in the year.
