Coach Gary Rogers and the Bishop Luers Knights look to make a statement in the Summit Athletic Conference in 2013. The Knights return eight starters, including three pitchers from a team that finished 2012 with a 20-10 record, 4-3 in the conference.
The Knights are a senior laden squad led by Jef Cardenas and Cam Gallaway. Cardenas is an infielder who hit .407 and also led the team in runs and steals. On the mound he was 3-0 with a 2.84 ERA. Gallaway hit .359 and drove in 12 runs while handling the catching duties for the Knights
Centerfielder Matt Williamson led the team with 25 RBI’s. Adam Reust will be a key in the rotation after winning 5 games last season with a 1.99 ERA. Other key contributors in 2013 will be Aaron LaMaster (SR) and Tyler Green (SR).
Bishop Luers will contend for the conference championship with defending Summit champ Snider and Northrop. The Knights will lean on their experienced seniors to make a deep run in the tournament.
