More Class of 2014 prospects have named their schools recently:
Tony Giannini, C, Carmel HS, 2014: The 23rd ranked prospect in Indiana, Tony Giannini, recently committed to Ohio University. The 5-foot-11 catcher from Carmel HS has attended multiple PBR events including the Top Prospect Games this past June. He was the highest rated catcher still left on the board prior to committing. Giannini is consistently around a 2.0 with his pop time. Last season for Carmel he finished the season hitting .315 with 4 HR, 7 2B, and 24 RBI.
Tyler Houston, OF, Brownsburg HS, 2014: Houston has committed to Butler University. The 6-foot-1 athlete attended the Top Prospect Games last June at IU. He’s strong and athletic with solid actions in the outfield. He displayed some projectable power at the Top Prospect Games. Last season for Brownsburg he hit .451 with 6 HR, 13 2B and 32 RBI. Houston is ranked No. 42 in Indiana’s 2014 class.
Mitch Gibson, SS, Greenfield Central HS, 2014: Gibson is a 5-foot-11 shortstop with plus actions defensively. The 53rd ranked prospect in the 2014 class recently committed to Kaskaskia Community College. Gibson attended the Underclass Showcase at Indiana Wesleyan last winter.
Travis Tokarek,C, Zionsville HS: Tokarek is a left handed hitting catcher from Zionsville and is committed to Evansville. He is one of the better left handed hitters in the 2014 class. Tokarek is ranked No. 65 in the 2014 class.
Evan Kennedy, C/1B, Lafayette Central Catholic HS, 2014: The big, physical left handed hitter has committed to Purdue University. He helped propel LCC to its fourth-straight state title last spring. Kennedy is ranked No. 71 in the 2014 class.
Joe Crider, C, Bloomington South HS, 2014: The 73rd ranked Crider recently committed to Austin Peay University. Crider attended last winter’s Preseason All State showcase in Indianapolis. The 6-foot-4 catcher possesses projectable power at the plate and good arm strength.
