The 2013 Indiana high school baseball season officially began today. Today marks the first official day for tryouts for all teams throughout the state, and although it may be too wet outside to get on the field any time soon, that certainly won’t stop us for preparing for what looks to be an exciting year in Indiana high school baseball.
In preparation for the upcoming season, we've spent countless hours polling coaches, reviewing stats, looking over rosters, analyzing schedules, picking apart pitching staffs, and debating (arguing) amongst the staff. We know our hard work and countless hours in coming up with the top 25 teams will undoubtedly mean very little by seasons end, but nevertheless the Preseason Power 25 is now official.
Leading the way at No. 1 in a unanimous decision is Elkhart Central followed by Crown Point, Jeffersonville, Zionsville, and McCutcheon to round out the top 5.
Defending 4A State Champion Lake Central comes in at No. 9 with 3A State Champion Western landing in the No. 11 spot.
