Today's 2015 Player Spotlight is on Hanover Central Junior catcher, Jesse Wilkening. Wilkening is only 5-foot-10, 180 pounds and not the flashiest of players, but in game its clear he is a top-level receiver.
The No. 20 ranked Wilkening was a member of Team Indiana at this year's Midwest Future Games and was one of the biggest surprises on the talented squad. He blocked the ball exceptionally well with quick footwork and a strong, accurate arm at 80 mph from the crouch. His pop times were consistently 2.00 on the bag.
Offensively he consistently made hard contact with a quick, level swing. During BP he had one of the quicker exit velo's of 90 mph.
