As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:  

The 2014 Wabash Apaches head into the season with high expectations.  Coach Stone's squad returns 5 starters and 6 pitchers from last year.  On the mound the Apaches will be led by 6-foot-5, 190 pound RHP Roger Davis and 6-foot-2, 200 pound LHP Jordan Floor.  Davis finished last season with a 9-2 record and a 2.01 ERA with 49 Ks.  Floor, who was selected All-Conference as sophomore, had to sit out all of last year, but is back and healthy and should make Wabash extremely tough on the mound this season. Offensively, Wabash loses its most prolific hitter from 2013 in Shea Beauchamp. Beauchamp,now playing at Huntington University, led the Apaches in 2013 hitting .582, with 8 HR, 12 2B, and 44 RBI. However, the Apaches do bring back seniors Grant Sailors and Isaiah Smith who were big contributors last year. Sailors finished 2013 hitting .367 with 6 2B and 21 RBI, while Smith hit .349 with 7 2B and 3 HR. Experience and depth should keep Wabash in the hunt for both the conference and sectional titles this season.
