Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Parker Beine

Parker Beine, RHP, Belleville West HS
Although Beine wasn’t the hardest thrower at the loaded Preseason All-State Showcase last February, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-hander left a lasting impression thanks to his pitchability and command of four pitches.
Unlike many young pitchers who throw four pitches, Beine showed true feel for his fastball, slider, curveball and changeup. He worked the strike zone with all pitches, which included an 83-84 mph fastball. His slider was especially promising, as it demonstrated consistent sharp two-plane break in the 71-72 range. He also threw his 70-73 mph changeup for strikes with some arm-side action.
Beine’s success carried over into the spring season for Belleville West. He led the Maroons with a 6-5 record, two saves and a 2.26 ERA. In 55.2 innings, he struck out 49 and walked 17 while maintaining a 1.06 WHIP.
