Unsigned Senior Showcase Spotlight: Brother Rice's Max Hughes

The Prep Baseball Report Unsigned Senior Showcase at the Max in McCook, IL will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014. The open showcase is geared towards all uncommitted 2015 graduates, and will include several area colleges in attendance. Nearly 70 schools were in attendance at last year’s event, and we expect a similar number at this year’s event.

Brother Rice’s Max Hughes is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound third baseman who impressed as the No. 5 ranked corner infielder at August 8th’s Unsigned Senior Games.

Max Hughes Scouting Report
5-foot-11, 165-pound infielder, lean athletic build. Well above average runner, 6.84 laser timed 60. Defensively plays with short arm action, athletic, high ¾ slot, accurate arm, 77 mph across the diamond. Athletic defender, showed the ability to play well laterally to his glove side, above average range, plays through the baseball, excellent body control. Right handed hitter, tall setup, slight open stance, short stride, maintains balance. Bat path is slightly uphill, two handed finish, lacked extension at times, athletic hands. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee.
