Top Prospect Games - St. Louis: Outfield Analysis

Over the next week we will be rolling out our analysis from the St. Louis - Top Prospect Games on June 6th. This event featured some of the top uncommitted 2018 prospects from Illinois and Missouri. Today we continue the analysis by taking a look at the outfielders in attendance.
TOP OUTFIELD PROSPECTS
1. Dalton Crowder, OF, Plainfield East, 2018
6-foot-2, 175-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder with a highly athletic, strong build. Offensively, wide setup, minimal load back, short stride and hits off his front foot. Line drive approach, short, level barrel path, gets extension, drives the ball back up the middle and generates bat speed. 86 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.59 home to first. Defensively, right-handed thrower, long arm action, high ¾ slot, some accuracy and carry; 82 mph from the outfield. Plays through the ball athletically, flashed soft hands, fluid footwork, quick, clean transfers.
2. Nick Boone, OF, O’Fallon, 2018
6-foot-1, 170-pound, lanky, athletic right-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, short, clean arm action, over-the-top arm slot, some accuracy and carry. Attacks the baseball, plays through the ball athletically, soft hands, quick footwork, quick and clean transfers, 85 mph from the outfield. Offensively, balanced setup, back load, leg kick timing trigger, fluid rhythm, maintains balance through swing. Gap-to-gap approach, stays inside ball, short, uphill barrel path generates bat speed, 90 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.19 home to first.
3. Daniel Reynolds, OF, Evergreen Park, 2018
5-foot-9, 175-pound, strong, left-handed hitting outfielder. Offensively, balanced, open setup, fluid rhythm and confident look at the plate. Toe-tap stride, hands load back, line drive hitter, short, uphill barrel bath, stays on the ball, purposeful aggressive swing, 87 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.54 home to first. Defensively, short arm action from high ¾ slot, 75 mph from the outfield.

Dominic DiLello, OF/RHP, Sacred Heart-Griffin, 2018
6-foot-1, 190-pound, strong, two-way prospect. Offensively, wide setup, minimal back and drop load, short stride, fluid rhythm, maintains balance. Gap-to-gap hitter, possesses loose hands, uphill barrel path whips through zone, 83 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.58 home to first. Defensively, short arm action from over-the-top slot, some carry. Average mobility, clean transfers, 83 mph from the outfield. On the mound, long arm action, over-the-top slot, regular effort. Tall and fall delivery, smooth rhythm, works on-line, lands closed, finishes athletically. Fastball, mostly straight, 77-79 mph, topped out at 81. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 61 mph.
Bryce Griebler, OF, Southeast, 2018
5-foot-9, 140-pound, right-handed outfielder. Defensively, long arm action, high ¾ arm slot, some accuracy. Plays through the ball, clean transfers, 74 mph from the outfield. Offensively, balanced setup, toe-tap stride, short barrel path, line drive hitter, 71 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.26 home to first.
Mikey Hampton, OF, Alton, 2018
5-foot-9, 160-pound, athletic left-handed hitting outfielder. Defensively, right-handed thrower, short athletic arm action from over-the-top slot, accurate with some carry. Plays through the ball cleanly with soft hands and fluid footwork, 85 mph from the outfield. Natural outfield actions. In game, made a big time diving catch. Offensively, balanced setup, back load, leg lift timing trigger, fluid rhythm maintains balance through swing. Matthew Helwig, OF/RHP, Lincoln-Way Central, 2018
5-foot-10, 170-pound, athletic, high-waisted, lean two-way prospect. On the mound, right-handed, long, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, easy effort. Tall and fall delivery, unorthodox rhythm, works slightly across body, finishes athletically. Fastball, flashed run, 82-85 mph, topped out at 86. Curveball, 11/5 shape, flashed sharp action, 72-74. Changeup, near fastball arm speed, occasional fade, 74-77. Defensively, long, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, some accuracy, above average carry, stays behind the ball, 87 mph from the outfield. Offensively, tall setup, long stride, maintains balance. Gap-to-gap ability, loose hands, uphill barrel path, 84 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.76 home to first.
Brandon Olion, OF, Champaign Centennial, 2018
6-foot-3, 165-pound, lanky, athletic left-handed outfielder, projectable frame. Offensively, wide setup, hands load back, short stride, fluid rhythm. Line drive hitter with loose hands, can go opposite field, uphill barrel path, 83 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively, short, firm arm action, ¾ arm slot. Plays through the ball, above average hands, fluid footwork and clean exchanges, 76 mph from the outfield . Ran a 4.61 home to first.
Zeb Roos, OF, Lindbergh (MO), 2018
Roos is a 5-foot-10 185-pound right handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 4.46 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts with an open stance, smooth load with leg lift, short in line stride, takes swing with intent to hit ball hard, aggressive, mostly pull side line drives during batting practice, flashes power, strong frame. In the outfield, 85 mph positional velo, throws left handed, works behind and through the ball with momentum, high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange working with feet, mostly accurate throws.
Ryan Sandifer, OF, Effingham, 2018
5-foot-11, 160-pound, lean left-handed outfielder. Defensively, natural outfielder actions, quick arm action, slot varies between over-the-top and high 3/4 , accurate. Plays through the ball with soft hands, fluid footwork, quick, clean exchanges, quick catch and throw, 83 mph from the outfield. Offensively, keeps it simple, balanced setup, short leg lift, fluid rhythm, uphill barrel path, 82 mph exit velocity off a tee. Ran a 4.87 home to first.
